1 Look at Source C and Figure 5.3. Why do you think that Cuba was attractive to the Soviet Union?

2 Rate each of the three leaders – Castro, Kennedy and Khrushchev – out of five for the extent of their responsibility for the Cuban Missile Crisis, with one being little or no responsibility and five being great responsibility. Give reasons for your ratings. Who do you think was the most responsible for the crisis?
